AI Engineering Intern
We’re looking for a Kuala Lumpur-based AI Engineering Intern to help build the AI at the core of what we do. Amast builds AI-powered software that runs the operations businesses depend on — and AI is the product, not a feature. As an intern, you’ll get hands-on with real LLM features, not toy demos, with mentorship from the engineers building them.
About the role
In this role you will:
- Work alongside our AI engineers to build and test real LLM-powered features.
- Get hands-on with the modern GenAI stack — prompts, RAG, embeddings, and evaluation.
- Help ground models in real data, and see what it takes to make AI reliable enough for customers.
- Take on a meaningful AI project of your own, with support to see it through.
- Learn how AI features actually get built and shipped, not just prototyped.
Requirements
- Studying computer science, AI, data science, or a related field — or a recent grad
- Solid Python, and genuine curiosity about LLMs and generative AI
- Some hands-on experience building with AI tools or APIs — even personal projects count
- A grasp of the basics: data structures, APIs, and how software fits together
- Curiosity, initiative, and the drive to figure hard things out
- Available for a full-time internship based in Kuala Lumpur
