Android Developer (Kotlin)

We’re looking for a Kuala Lumpur-based Android Developer to build native Android experiences for Amast. Amast builds AI-powered software that runs the operations businesses depend on — and a lot of that work happens on Android devices in the field. You’ll build fast, reliable native apps in Kotlin that people depend on to get their jobs done.

About the role

In this role you will:

• Build and ship native Android apps in Kotlin — from architecture to Play Store release.
• Own performance, reliability, and offline behaviour for people working on the move with unreliable networks.
• Integrate device capabilities — camera, location, notifications, storage — into features that work in the real world.
• Write clean, testable, modern Android code (Jetpack, Coroutines, MVVM) and help raise the bar for the team.
• Work with product and design to turn requirements into polished, intuitive Android experiences.

Requirements

• 3+ years building native Android apps in Kotlin, with apps shipped to the Play Store
• Strong command of modern Android (Jetpack, Coroutines, Compose or XML, MVVM/MVI, dependency injection)
• Experience with offline-first data, local storage (Room), and background work
• Comfort with device APIs (camera, location, push) and Play Store release
• A track record of writing tested, maintainable code and owning performance
• Good communication, and experience with React Native, Flutter, or backend APIs is a plus
